Oh yes I think it's an excellent book. It's for beginners really, and is really well explained, plus the projects and eye candy is excellent too. I love her blog and this book is certainly no dissappointment!
I just love your sense of color. Probably because I have similar tastes! Your teals/blues and golds really ring my bell these days. I bought a little patchwork chicken thingy at the thrift the other day for 25 cents. It has yellows and greys in it, totally thought of you.
