It had meant to have been a day of meeting up with friends. It had meant to have been a day of work. It had meant to have been a day of housework, and chores, and cooking and cleaning, and looming deadlines. I was feeling tetchy. Something felt stale. Having plans broken really was the saving of the day - it was time to ditch the to-do list...

... in two minutes we were heading out to the forest. Within two minutes of arriving at the forest we were well off the beaten track, finding our own games in our own space in our own world. And I noticed that I began to breathe deeply. I exhaled forcefully and audibly. It kept happening, involuntarily. These trees were weaving their magic again. Within minutes I was centred, revived, zoned out and clear headed.

We stayed off track all day. We came back tired and hungry and happy.

We came home having truly breathed.

  5. Thankyou Lisa. Yeah, whenever we goto the forest it never fails to centre us all. I always promise myself when we are there to come back more often. We badly need these places in our lives. Your recent images of the mountain trees are beautiful too. I wish had those views straight out of my window!
