THIS year I shall master spinning. I will, really. Honestly. I can feel it happening for me.

Pinky promise. Yup.

*Sigh*

  3. Assalamu alaikum....oooodddlles of HOPE...just get that brake band attached for a starter...and keep tweaking the tension and try sitting a little lower than the chair seen here...so your hands are level with the bobbin to avoid the back getting tired with stooping over...will email a bit more asa, Insha'Allah! SubhanAllah it was not that long ago when 'someone' couldn't knit or crochet!!!!! Now look where that 'someone' is at!!! And spinning no more difficult that knitting or crochet...and certainly just as therapeutic, relaxing and allowing the mind to chill :)
    Wassalamu alaikum

  4. Half the trouble lies in when I've set the thing up, I come into the room and find *someone* has played with it, knocked against it, pulled the brake band off or generally tried to use it as a steering wheel in a monster truck game! But I was thinking that today when I was just about to spit the dummy - I couldnt knit once and now I'm addicted :)

  5. If at first you don't suceed..TRY. TRY. AGAIN!!! YOU know you would never allow your children to stop trying at anything!!! I cannot imagine spinning..seems ridiculously complicated...Like knitting does. at times....but I'm getting it!! I have total faith in you Debbie:)

  6. Ah but I follow the law of homer (Simpson).... If at first you don't succeed, give up. But ok, if you have faith in me I'll keep trying. Just for you. And when I've finally mangled some yarn out, it's YOURS.

  7. Love that, even if it never gets used it is lovely to look at! I have a few vintage sewing machines that need tlc to get the working again but I just haven't had the time. But one day I will, and I am sure that wheel of yours will too :)
