Blueberry Crumble

DSC_0059

Before we made the jam a few berries were put aside for a crumble. We like crumble. It's easy to rustle up and much enjoyed. And it's been a while since I posted a recipe, so let's combine the two things - a love of crumble and its recipe.

Ingredients

For the Filling
300g blueberries
500g cooking apple
3 tablespoons golden sugar
The rind and juice of one lemon
Nutmeg - a few scrapes

For the top

200g Plain Flour
100g butter
50g golden sugar
pinch salt

To Make

1. Pre-heat the oven to 200*C/Gas 6
2. Rub the flour, salt and butter in to form a crumb texture
3. Mix in the sugar.
4. In another bowl add all the filling ingredients and mix. Place in a greased oven dish
5. Sprinkle the crumb mix over the apple and blueberry mixture
6. Bake for 30 mins

Serve with whipped cream or ice-cream.

Enjoy!

  3. yes the bushes are quite small (4 in total) we have had them 2-3 years and so far have had quite a few berries (not this year though).
