One space I have always intended for the children to have, and one which I've been planning for a little while, has been this little studio space - a corner for them to store all their fabric, yarn, needles, fluff, spindles, hoops and now, sewing machine. In fact, all the things they see in my little work niche.

We haven't had the space before this overhaul for everything to have one home. Tools and notions were dotted all over the house, or piled into crates under other crates, so it is just so lovely to see it all out in the open, all within reach, as it should be.

Added to the mix is a new 'sewing jar' with pin cushion that I made, a stash of their own buttons and pins, some new dressmaking scissors, a place for all their sewing and knitting books and now an inspiration board to keep them buzzing with ideas.

I don't know who loves this space more - me or them, but I do love the fact that we can all work along side each other and grow together and have the space to spread our wings a little bit more. Masha'allah.

  2. Thankyou. Yep, the boys are making little sewn bits of this and that whenever they can
