Everyday Beauty :: 1

DSC_0066

Something new for a while. As most of you who read this blog regularly know I've been working on a project for the last year, showing snippets here and there of some of the things that have made their way out of my work niche ready to fly into the big, wide world at some point.

That point is fast approaching. Oh my. It seems surreal to me that something I've been plodding on with for so long is suddenly ready to go to the next stage of its life. It's almost, without wanting to sound dramatic, like a pregnancy - for so long it has been 'mine' (and others, more on that at some point), growing slowly, slowly and everything is as it was - normal with something new impending. And now, here we are, on the eve almost of change. Yes, alright I'm being overly dramatic. But the analogy still stands. In my head. I'm ready to birth a new thing.

I think, all things being equal, we might have one month left of waiting (and working furiously) before The Big Reveal (dramatic again? Moi?). I'm going to take a natural break from blogging until then, but thought it might be a nice time for a photo-challenge. And why not join me? Tell your friends, let's have a party - February needs its funk worked out - one month of finding beauty all around us, from the mundane to the amazing - things in the here and now that add beauty to our lives.

Starting today :: A Month of Everyday Beauty.

If you would like to join in leave a link in the comment section where we can all find you. And you want a badge of honour for your blog sidebar then you can have that too:

EDIT :: I'm going to try to post a picture everyday for one month - I'm picking this month, but it can be any start/end date of your choice, but it has to be a whole month. It doesn't matter if you are rubbish at photography, pictures are meant for your memories, to focus on the beauty in the insanity of everyday-ness, and by hopefully finding small pockets of reprieve it will shift our focus onto the beauty in our lives.

  1. I love the sound of this but have so many questions! What do I have to do? What if I'm rubbish at photography? How often do I have to post? Thanks!! :)
