ughh playdates...i have just declared myself a non play date mother. they'll have to wallow in their homeschooled isolation. kidding, but really. aren't they contrived? i used to just put my shoes on and walk outside. the world and my neighbors magically convened for a play date. every afternoon. now, it's the cars, and the traffic, and the buckles. by the time you get there, the laptop does look mighty appealing!
Yeah I'm not really a coffee morning type of mum either. But where once when friends came over it was trucks and trains, it's now universe and invention related play.... And I'm not needed!
